We are huge fans of KeyMinistry and their resources and services for churches. In fact, the reason I have the approach with integration with mental health and the Church because of Dr. Grcevich’s Mental Health and the Church book. Their newest adventure is the Mental Health and the Church Conference happening September 26-27, 2024 in Cleveland, OH.
The structure of the conference includes:
- 4 All Conference Gatherings On the Main Stage: Learn from nationally known speakers and moderated panel discussions on mental health and ministry topics important to your church.
- 4 Breakout Blocks: When you register for MHATC2024, choose from workshops or the Quick Take series for each Breakout Block. Quick Takes are TED talk-style presentations.
An outstanding team of speakers will present at Mental Health and the Church 2024, from nationally known names like Kay Warren, Brad Hoefs, Dr. Mark Mayfield and others, to individuals with lived experience who have valuable insights and approaches to share, all for the purpose of sharpening your mental health ministry. We are also excited to announce that we will be there speaking at the Thursday morning’s workshop on the topic of Integrating Church And Mental Health: How Church Leadership Can Intersect With Counselors And Agencies.
The previous conference model was called Inclusion Fusion that was rebranded as Disability & the Church conference that happened in May of this year and will continue on. Key Ministry’s Disability and the Church conference has played a significant role in the growth of disability ministries across the US, as well as the mindset shift that has taken place in many congregations to reach this point. The Key Ministry team very much desires that the same growth will take place with respect to mental health ministry.
The Mental Health and the Church conference is the first of what KeyMinistry hopes will be many opportunities to harness the hard-won wisdom among the speakers. Each of these presenters will “comfort with the comfort they have received,” to equip you and your church to effectively come alongside individuals and families needing extra support in their relationship with Christ due to mental health challenges. I hope to see you there!
