Crasg Course Psychology Video Series

Created more than a decade ago, Hank Green, one part of the vlog brothers, created a channel called Crash Course as an experiment to use YouTube as a way to offer educational resources including everything from history, engineering, biology, and literature. In 2014, they decided to take on the topic of Pscyhology which dedicated a sizeable chunk towards the specific disorders within mental illness from the DSM.

The series is not only entertaining, it is spot on in it’s education. As a therapist that utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, one of my missions is to educate people on what the disorder they have been diagnosed with so they better understand thoughts and feelings with the symptoms they are experiencing. It also gives a broader understanding of how they can communicate their symptoms to family and friends.

Because of the production value of these videos, they are honestly a perfect course work in and of themselves. I highly recommend you check them out, especially if you have family members who struggles with one of the disorders they cover in their series.

Below, I’ve included a couple of videos from the YouTube series, but I’d highly encourage you to check them out. And let us know in the comments what you think of the video series.
